September 6, 2010: Labor Day

All my best intentions to get things done today (shop for furniture) went by the wayside, but that's ok. I spent the day digging out stuff to get rid of...clothes. I should have had many more things to get rid of but I really did a thorough purge, and it took a while. I am so sick of digging through this stuff. All these clothes that still have tags on them and they look like they belong to another era. But it was a good day! I decided not to eat any junk, so I spent the day eating fruits and veggies. I'm really hungry. But I had to start. I have a goal of 164 pounds on Oct. 11, which is Columbus Day, then 140 by Nov. 11, which is Veteran's Day. And now I have to clip my nails because I can't type.

Cruise! What a fabulous way to vacation! I can't wait to go again. The start of something big! We went in mid-December, and when I returned I got a call that I was going into a new job location, a nice promotion. So from sunny beaches to a beautiful Dutch community, I am extremely pleased and looking forward to the last few years of my career.

Ah-- the cruise. The beautiful port of Miami led us straight into the winds of tropical storm Olga. But it didn't really bother me at all; I just love experiencing new things and was PRETTY sure we wouldn't be in the middle of the ocean with 5.000 people aboard if it was going to be dangerous. We went on to St. Thomas, Tortola and then the Bahamas. Missed the first stop in the Dominican Republic. It was so nice I didn't want it to end. I'll be going again sometime soon. Sun, sand, ocean and islands. No phones, TV, and I didn't pick up a book once---I was having too much fun to be sitting around reading!!

My sweet little daughter is having a baby girl in May---May first. Even before her arrival it has changed our lives. I can't wait to meet my little baby girl!

Going to see Cory, Lyssa and Russ tomorrow.

If we could see the future, would it bring any more joy to this moment? Enjoy this day, enjoy this moment/

Law of Attraction

The summer is winding down and it is hard to imagine how fast time flies when you want it to fly. 25 years in the Post Office. To think of it---how time runs on and we fail to consume every moment with relish!! Today I was thankful for the sunshine and beauty of the day. For the smell of the grass like a gold course. Remembering to be grateful for all I have every day. I have to remember to love life!

Something New

04/14/2007

For someone that loves the written word as much as I, this is a long time coming! I hope my family and friends will use this site as well. A way to connect and stay in touch in this incredibly fast world we live in.

I am a mom, grandma, and work full time.

Today I live in Grand Rapids. Not that funny, but I hope I continue to live here and enjoy the more temperate climate of southwest Michigan! John McCain was here this week, something that probably would not happen in Grayling MI. Two weekends ago my grandson Cory York was here at the Grand Valley Fieldhouse in Allendale to participate in the Robotics competition; it was fascinating!! Their robot had technical difficulties in the finals but nevertheless the team did very well and what a wonderful experience for all the kids involved. Cory is 16, going on 17 in October and the sweetest, cutest grandson anyone could ever hope for.

Ok---this was a last minute fancy, so am going to close now and decide where I want to go with this.
